Hi Matt,

I hadn't managed to download the 0.9.2 update for DreadDrums yet but the link seems to fail for me. Is ita problem at my end or has the link gone down?

Cheers

I just tested the links above and they are working ok. What kind of error do you get when attempting to download the plugin ?
Also, are you on MacOS or Windows ?

Hi Matt, agreed they seem to work fine on my Mac but couldn't download on my PC. It was probably my PC being weird. Got lost in a dub session so will try again later. Thanks for checking though

Hi Howard, sorry for the delayed response.

The meter freezes up, but does the plugin freeze too ?
Which buffer size are you using ?

I'm preparing a new update in a couple of days, that should improve the performances of the plugin.
Stay tuned!

Hello everyone, it's time for an update!

Here's what's new:

v0.9.3:

  • Added: Button in the Settings panel to open the (upcoming) user guide
  • Improved: Global performances
  • Fixed: MIDI Pack browser bug
  • Fixed Delay FX buttons bug
  • Fixed: Missing image on front page's drums
  • Fixed: Channels pitch not recalling the set values

v0.9.4:

  • Added: Tooltips! (Activate with the bottom-left 'i' button)
  • Added: Notification System (Automatic update detection)
  • Added: Preset 'Quick Save' option in the top bar
  • Added: alternative note triggers for main drums (snare, timbale, toms, ...)
  • Added: Drums AMP envelope Decay Curve control
  • Added: Snare drum elements to the Timbale/Clap channel
  • Removed: Drums AMP envelope Release controls as is was useless (in a one-shot sampler mode)
  • Improved: (QoL) MIDI files that belong to the same Riddim are now visually grouped
  • Improved: Flams articulations handling
  • Improved: Drum & FX presets versions handling
  • Fixed: Now the MIDI Mapping is saved between presets, and the library's MIDI files can be exported with a modified mapping
  • Fixed: Midi Map file bug lead to triggering the wrong drum elements
  • Fixed: Cymbal choke not working for multiple hits
  • Fixed: Preventing Samples link file some times not being properly copied on MacOS
  • Fixed: Minor GUI glitches

You haven't miss anything: I didn't officially released v0.9.3.

Important Note:
I'm preparing the future content addition, and in this case, I updated the way the drum sounds (aka Channel Presets) and FX presets are handled internally.
If you've already made your own drum sounds presets, just in case something goes wrong, I'd advise to make a backup.

Simply make a copy of the 'Channel Presets' & 'FX Presets' folders that are located here:

Windows: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SoundFingers\Dread Drumz
MacOS: Users//Library/Application Support/SoundFingers/Dread Drumz

On MacOS, this location is hidden by default. To show the hidden files and folder, open an explorer window and press CMD + MAJ + '.' (dot)

Next week to-do list: finishing the User Guide and record a tutorial video 🙂
Then the final step of content creation can begin.

Dread Drumz v0.9.4 MacOS
Dread Drumz v0.9.4 WIN

Please let me know if there's anything wrong - or if everything works properly 🙂
Cheers!

Hi Matt, I installed the update and opened the plugin. The plugin is showing a message saying "missing". The background image of the drums is missing. Cheers.

Which OS was this? Installed on Windows yesterday and the update worked perfectly.

I reinstalled the update again but it had the same results.
I installed the original version (v0.9.2) and everything is working as normal. No messages.

Hi Matt, I've just installed what I hope is the 0.9.4 update (the VST3 is dated 07.02.2025 @ 15:44) but the settings still says 0.9.2. How can I be sure I have the latest and greatest? 😉

Hi Matt,

Looks like the kick presets are missing on the Mac version (See attached screen shot). Have not been able to test on Windows yet.

I've also noticed that the HiHat Pedal doesn't choke the Opeh HiHat which is a pretty standard operation. Closed HiHat does choke so perhaps this was just missed.

All the flams seem to be snare rolls including the hats and timbale rather than actual flams. This is true across all kits.

I'm pretty sure the hihat choke issue is on both Windows and Mac as it was the same on 0.9.2 but had not got round to logging it. I will test on Win 11 ASAP.

Seems like this is really coming together now and must be approaching V 1.0.0.1 so thanks for all the hard work and adjustments you have made so fat.

Version 0.9.5
OSX 14.4.1
M1 Max
