Hello everyone!

I just pushed an update. v0.9.6 is available (as always) here.

You can now read the changelog on the same page, just below the download links.

I have to mention something I changed:

Before this update, the 'BTM' acoustic sidestick and snare elements were listed before the 'TOP' elements (alphabetically).
But it has been pointed out that it would make more sense, logically, to have the 'TOP' elements first and the 'BTM' ones in second:

People seem to use the TOP elements more often than the BTM elements. This matches the order of the IN and SUB kick elements, and it will unify the sample browser design.
If that's unclear, I made a quick video to explain this here.

And now I'm all set to make more videos, probably during next week :)

Cheers!

Hi Matt,

The page that your message, and the email, links to shows a version number of 0.9.5a. I've just double checked and that's the version I have installed at the moment. I'll download it just in case it's just a case of the page being incorrectly labelled...

UPDATE: The installer said 0.9.6, and that's what gets installed!

Just the opportunity to show off my latest work-in-progress. It has the working title of Primeval Dub and it features my attempt at a `Nyahbingi` rhythm 😉

Could you delete the previous post? I forgot to log in 😉

Hey Carl!

I listened to your track. I love it, that's totally my style :)

Thanks, I bumped the version number - I completely forgot this one...

Hi

I just pushed an update. v0.9.7 is available here.

I think I've now fixed all major bugs. The plugin should be stable now, but it's still possible that you'll find some minor glitches.
I can now move on to finish the library and see what I can do to optimize the performances.

@carl-caulkett: the version number should be the right one this time :)

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Looking good in the main but I've spotted two things this morning working on 0.9.7 on Mac. Firstly the side stick default MIDI key is set to A-2 rather than C#1. The other is that the velocity curve is set to 0%/100% when I load Dread Drumz so that every hit is full velocity.

I've not had a chance to test on Windows yet so maybe someone else can chime in on that until I get an opportunity.

Thanks for all the hard work to date.

Hey Django,
Thank you for bringing this up. The Sidestick issue comes from when I compiled the plugin, so that's just a glitch cause by myself.

About the presets, they should be updated when you launch a newer version of the plugin. If they are not updated, it could mean a writing-permission issue, which is quite common on MacOS.
If that's not much trouble, could you please send me your preset files ?

You can find them by opening Dread Drumz' preset browser, click on the "More" button on the top-left side of the popup, and click on "Show Preset Folder".
You can then compress it and either post it here or send it to me at contact@soundfingers.com

I'll take a look at the files, see if something is missing and I'll update it.

Cheers!

Matt

v0.9.7 is working well with Cubase 14 except the volume levels of the drums seem quite low. On the whole, looking great. Thanks.

In the previous version (v0.9.6), Cubase made loud popping sounds when loading the Dread Drums plugin. It also made the pops while quitting Cubase.

The popping sound has now appeared in the new version (v0.9.7) whilst using FL Studio 2024. It happens when loading Dread Drums plugin and whilst  quitting FL Studio.

Cubase is my main daily driver, so I am happy.
